Therapy Agreement for Care with your Perinatal Therapist in London
Welcome
This document outlines how I work and what you can expect from therapy. It is intended to provide clarity and help create a safe and consistent space for our work together.
Sessions
- Sessions are 50 minutes long
- Sessions will usually take place weekly at an agreed time
- Sessions are offered online via Zoom (or in-person if arranged)
Fees and payment
The fee for each session is £140. Payment is required in advance of each session via bank transfer. Payment should be made at least 24 hours before the session.
Cancellations
I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a session. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice are charged in full.
Confidentiality
Everything you share in sessions will be treated as confidential. There are some limits to confidentiality, including:
- If there is a risk of serious harm to you or others
- If there are safeguarding concerns
- If required by law
Where possible, I would aim to discuss this with you first.
Scope of practice
I offer psychological therapy for adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, particularly in the context of pregnancy and early parenthood. My practice is best suited to individuals who are able to engage in planned, outpatient psychological therapy.
Risk and suitability
This service is not designed to provide crisis or emergency support. I am not able to work with individuals who are experiencing:
- Current significant risk to themselves or others
- Active suicidal intent
- Acute mental health crises requiring urgent support
If concerns about risk arise during our work together, we may need to review whether this service remains the most appropriate level of support. Where appropriate, I may recommend accessing more suitable services, such as NHS services, your GP, or local crisis teams.
Crisis support
If you require urgent or immediate support, please contact:
- Your GP
- Your local NHS crisis team
- Emergency services (999)
Working together safely
It is important that you let me know if your circumstances change or if you begin to feel at risk, so we can consider the most appropriate support for you.
Notes and data
I keep brief clinical notes to support our work together. These are stored securely in line with data protection requirements. Further information about how your data is handled is available in my Privacy Notice.
Contact between sessions
- Email can be used for practical arrangements (e.g. booking or rescheduling)
- I may not be able to respond immediately
- This service is not suitable for urgent or crisis support
Ending therapy
You are free to end therapy at any time. Where possible, it can be helpful to have a final session to bring the work to a close.
Your agreement
By attending sessions, you are agreeing to the terms outlined above. If you have any questions about any aspect of this agreement, you are very welcome to ask.
